Kernel32 errors on Windows ME

Hi,

I am working on my mother-in-laws PC and it is Windows ME. I was cleaning up a bunch of stuff including some excel errors, internet explorer errors, etc. I have all of the little things fixed but I think I must have made a change to the registry somehow because now I get Kernel32 errors all the time, At first only SpyDocter gave me the error when it tried to start up so I uninstalled it, then AVG started to give me the same error, Does anyone know a good FREE registry fixing tool.
