Large folders import in Outlook Express

Recently I recieved a call from a customer telling me he had lost all the messages in the inbox of outlook express. He was using Windows XP Pro and I search in the Application data folders of his user and discovered a 2.07 Gigs Inbox.dbx file!!. I tried to import in another profile created for this purpose, but was impossible. Is there another way to recover the messages or the information from these oversized Outlook Express?s dbx files?
