Limitations on distribution Lists

I am trying to find out why when using Distribution Lists on exchange 2000 in public folders and using Outlook 2002 (XP)we have a certain problem of updating the DL from our Public folder when changing the address of any person within that DL. It tells us to remove 1 or more addresses before we do an update now to the DL we created. I can, however, do it using my outlook 2000 client but my boss cannot. He wants to be able to update the list himself. If anyone can tell us if we can change theregistry or load something to change this limitation which seems to be built into Outlook 2002, that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
