link Outlook 2003 Journal & Office docs

Outlook 2003 Journal is supposed to automatically track Office documents linked to a specific contact once you enable the option.

My question is, how do you associate the Office document with the contact? I am presuming by the wording, that you can do this [i]without[/i] going into Outlook (I already know how to manually link files to contacts in Outlook)

I cannot find any good detailed answers that clarify this in Microsoft Help or Online.
