Locked Excel can not use Find command

Hi all, and thanks in advance.

I’m having an issue with a spreadsheet here at work that has been protected by another person. I can access the spreadsheet and read its contents, but the find command does not work. When I try to find something in the document it says Microsoft Office Excel can not find the data your searching for.

Is there anyway around this besides removing the protection on the spreadsheet?
