Media Player does not recogn. video

by hulstart . Updated 23 years, 7 months ago

I have encountered this problem on several machines, most running XP. It is possible to play video viles (avi. mpg Divx and so on) in the Windows Media player until the customer uses Real One (I know this for sure on one machine but am not sure it is Real One who causes that every time). After that the Media player does not recognize the video as such anymore and plays only the audio. When checking the “properties” of the video, it shows the properties for the audio but under video “unknown.” This seems not to affect video with a low frame rate (14/sec) but all others cannot be played anymore although they did before.
I already unchecked everything in Real One player to no avail, I guess I have to go in the registry but where and what???
Can somebody indicate how to reset or whatever the media player???

Thanks

Andre
