Message stuck in outbox

Client computer was apparently shut off during send/recieve in Outlook 2000. Now recieves error message 0x80040114 “MAPI Spooler has already begun transmitting this message”
Client can no longer send mail from that account.
Cannot delete or otherwise move message from outbox.
Cannot find appropriate answer on Microsoft Support.
