Messaging/GroupWise adds ‘ in front of a

by tracyp . Updated 23 years, 11 months ago

We have a 3rd party application that creates a file which is then sent out via email. We use GroupWise 5.5 as our email program. This 3rd party program seems to use windows messaging as the transport. When the file is created, a box pops up whereyou put the recipient’s email address. No matter what address you put, the message comes back to GroupWise as undeliverable and the address showing is ‘tracy@xxx.com. In other words somewhere, something is putting a ‘ in front of the address. Outlook is not an option. The 3rd party program will not pull up an address book, you actually have to know the address.

Here is part of a log file that the 3rd party software creates.
111 D:\TEMP\3.zip MAPI DLL initialized correctly
111 D:\TEMP\3.zip MAPI Logon succeeded
111 D:\TEMP\3.zip HFSMAPI62 – Email only branch processing started
111 D:\TEMP\3.zip HFSMAPI67 – Email sent

Microsoft Word/Excel Send to: function works fine with GroupWise only if windows messaging is installed. Thisis on an NT 4.0 workstation, using Novell 4.81 client. Any help or pointers of what to look for would be great.
