modified permissions could not be saved

I would like to give permissions to a Global distribution group with an email address established to review my outlook 2000 calendar, but I get an error message saying that “The modified permissions could not be saved. The client operation failed.” We have an Exchange 2000 mail server with Outlook XP in a Single Master Domain.
