MS Access – Update Records

I am currently working on a database that processses reports and sends them out automatically. However, I need it to update the records with a closed status and date. I cannot seem to make Access complete this task. When I have it run a set value with a macro on the form it says it cannot update the records and I think this is related to two queries being required to locate this information. I attempted to utilize an Update Query however, it cannot seem to locate the records in order to update them. Any ideas?
