MS Autroute corrupt intstallation

My boss has been using MS Autoroute on a Dell laptop running W2000P for about a year with no problems.

It was set up to run off the disc, but he wasn’t very happy about that so we re-installed it (via Windows add/remove… reinstall etc.) to run off the HD, a month or so ago.

Yesterday, out of the blue, trying to launch it returns a message along the lines of: “This installation has become corrupted. Please run setup again(5-40003-7)”

I tried rerunning setup, uninstall/reinstall (both typical and full).

I can’t find anything at MSoft’s KB or Google using the “error” code
