MS Excel Question

by brianaaa12 . Updated 23 years, 10 months ago

I have a client who uses Excel to track contributions during a ‘Share-a-Thon’. Within their Excel file they have different pages that format the data in different ways.

I have a couple questions regarding this.

1) Is there a way to make Excelsave the file on a regular basis (not the recovery file) so others can open it at any given time and see a relatively current sheet?
2) If another user had the file open simultaneously in read-only mode, is there a way for it to update itself periodically without exiting and restarting the program?

What the station manager would like to be able to do is have the file open at a LAN workstation in the studio (this is for a religous radio station) and see current stats for donations.

If anybody has any suggestions, please pass them along.

Brian
