MS Office Hangs when opening files??

Has anyone esles experience a problem when tryinig to open files with any Office applicaiton while having Symantic’s AntiVirus and Internet Security running? Every time I attempt to go to the the dropdown menu for opening files, it just hangs for several minutes. Prior to upgrading my antivirus subscription and addinng the Internet Security Firewall features, I didn’t have this problem. I’m running XP Pro with XP Office for Small Business.

Please help before I go mad…
