My problem is I have 2 MS Word 2000 files that will not open. Both of these files are located on the same computer on the same NTFS network drive, neither of them are password protected, and both have the same attributes of Everyone, Full Control. One of the files is 705 kb, and the other is 198 kb. The interesting part of the problem that I do not understand is that, when I attempt to open either of the files on another computer on the network they open fine with little hesitation. To add to my puzzlement the computer that they will not open on has a 730Mhz processor, 128 MB of RAM, and a 10GB hard drive. The computer that they open fine on has 450 Mhz processor, 64MB RAM and 5GB hard drive.
On the problem computer I have moved the files to other drives, changed the permissions, saved to a floppy, and compressed the files, none of which was successful.
