MS SQL Certification?

I’ve been reading the SQL Server Tips from Builder.com for some time now. Usually, the tip is beyond my needs or experience. In order to “get up to speed”, I would like to know what the “speed” is. Can someone tell me best how to obtain the knowledge I need to perform my day-to-day tasks most efficiently? Should I pursue certification (MCDBA)? Should I just let time take its course? I have been working with SQL Server 7 and 2000 for over three years and have created several database applications for my company. I’ve never run into a problem that wasn’t easily overcome. But…the nagging question, after reading these tips, could I be doing it better? How would I know?
