MSN Messenger files

We are trying to investigate a user that is sending instant messages and chatting using MSN Messenger. Does anyone know if there are log files, or readable copies of the IMs and chats that are stored on the hard drive of the user’s PC?

Any assistance would be appreciated, as we have not dealt with this type of thing before.
