Need help with an obscure Excel problem

by patricia.schaffner . Updated 19 years, 11 months ago

One of our locations has a number of applications that were previously written in Excel Macro4 language (i.e. Excel 98 vintage). These are installed on users machines in the XLSTART folder as .XLM files.

Local IT support created an update of these applications that are now installed as a true Excel Add-In (.xla file).

When users uninstall the XLM file from their machine, the old function names still remain even though the functions themselves are no longer accessible.

We cannot find anywhere in the Excel help, or on the Microsoft site, or even through Google, how to remove these references from the users’ machine. We cannot even find them embedded within files on the users’ machine.

Any help with this problem, or a contact within Microsoft, etc. would be greatly appreciated.
