Need more input, MSN down??

We are using w98es & me and are on lan with roadrunner. Today for some reason we can access the internet with no trouble except for msn and some of microsoft’s support sites. I ran a virus scan and found nothing. I did recieve an answer pretaining to shorcuts, however this is not a shortcut problem. If I type in “www.msn.com” directly it does not find the site. Also on the microsoft website most of the support sites as well as msnbc.com will not respond.
Any help would be appreciated.
