Nero won’t burn DVDs at 2x?

I have a Pioneer A03 drive which is supposed to burn DVD-R’s at 2X speed. However, when I run Nero (v5.5.9.9), the only option I have is to burn at 1x. Any ideas? I’ve tried reinstalling the software, but the same thing happens (I’m running XP pro with dual P3-500s).
