Netscape doesn’t work

Over the weekend I had my PC spend many hours downloading Netscape 7.02. As instructed, I did not uninstall version 4.7. After everything seemed to have worked well, despite many interruptions for network errors, the icons appeared, but clicking them gives me a moment with an arrow and an hourglass then nothing. Also, some strange windows appear when the computer stasrts; they seem to contain something rather like html, but to have no function. How do I get Netscape 7 working? Version 4.7 is still working.
