No images on IE 7 or IE 6

Hi;
I ask Microsoft about this and they were as helpful as soggy bread! Can anyone please help me or give me any suggestions?
I had IE 6, it worked ok, but a couple of months ago images just started not showing up. So, I downloaded IE 7 hoping maybe that would solve my problem. No luck. I even uninstalled and reinstalled it, it’s pretty useless! I can read on it but if I want to click on something I have to get off of it and go somewhere else.
Does anyone have any ideas about how to fix this? Or at least what is wrong? I’m not the brightest bulb when it comes to computers but I do notice when things disappear!
