Not able to uninstall office 2000

Not able to uninstall office 2000 from a Win2000 PC
While trying to uninstall the error shows “This patch package could not be opened. Contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer patch package”
I’m trying to runOffice 2000 setup program from it’s orginal CD not a patch or anaything.
