object cannot be found error Outlook2000

Recently, when I click on any “mailto” hyperlink from a webpage or within email, I receive the error message: object cannot be found. Outlook is my default email account. I tried repairing OUtlook and internet explorer. The mailto link will work with hotmail as the default however. What must I do to fix this problem so that I don’t have to cut and paste into a new outlook window? Thanks
