OE Mail Rule to schedule deletion

Does anyone know of any add-ons or plug ins I could get hold of so I can automatically schedule a time for a message to be deleted out of my inbox? Way too many in there, and it’s too time consuming to have to filter regularly to check what’s still relevant… Would love a nifty little software solution & if all else fails, may even be willing to negotiate a fee for someone to develop it for me.
PS Sounds self evident, but from experience with previous questions I’ll be upfront – points only awarded for the solution, not general feedback, so don’t take that “not helpful” rating personally.
