Office2k / 2000 shuts down after i open

I have a problem with MS Office 2k.
When i try to open any of the ofice suite applications like Excel, Word, Power Point etc the application opens for a second and then closes down. I have tried uninstalling/re-installing Office but the result is still the same. I think the disk i am installing is ok and the only other piece of software i had running during install was NAV which i disabled on the second install of office after i had removed the first installation.
Anyone know if this is fixable ?
