Opening Links in Outlook Express E-mail

On a workstation that uses Outlook Express for e-mail, there is a problem with opening hyperlinks in e-mails. If a received message contains a hyperlink, the link is underlined and in blue font as it is supposed to be. Also, when you put the curser over the hyperlink, it turns into the pointing finger as well. However, nothing happens when you left-click on the hyperlink. In order to access the hyperlink, you have to highlight it, and then copy and paste it into the web browser.

I have looked at all the Outlook Express settings, and none of them seem to have an option for correcting this. This problem does not happen with Internet Explorer. It only happens with Outlook Express. If anyone can tell me how to fix this, I’d appreciate it. If the recommended solution fixes the problem, I will award the 250 points for this question.
