Opening restricted Access 97 base in 2K

We have compiled MS Access 97 database with workgroup defined and certain users allowed to use it. When database file is opened in 97th – there is a pop-up window “login as” which prompts for user ID and password. When opening same file in Access 2000 there is no prompt, just error message that this user is not allowed to view or modify current database. Please note that domain username and username used to access database are different. How to get this prompt in Access 2K?
