Today I’ve visited two machines in which Office 2k Pro is not installing.
Both machines recently had OS upgrades. #1 Win95 – Win98, #2 Win98 – Win2k. #1 receives error that the “Patch” file on disk 1 should be verified. #2 Successfully installed for Administrator only. The software compatibility check at upgrade, stated that office would need to be initialized for each user on the system. However users other than Administrator receive the same error, that machine #1 is experiencing.
Machine #2 is used by a database developer. #2 Must have 97 Office and 2000 Office running on this machine… and it is.. for the administrator. While I realize there may be a registry permission that I need to take care of. I’m very annoyed that swimming through the registry which is full of Office installations, might be only alternative.
I have a copy of Office Premium which in the past I’ve used to remove stubborn installations of Office 2k Pro.
Does anyone have a link formanual removal of Office 2000 from the registry? (Win 98 & Win 2000).
