Outlook 2000

I’m trying to find out why when I reisntalled Outlook 2000 on a Win2K client PC that now you actually have to switch from the inbox folder to another folder just so that Outlook will send/receive new mail. This is really wierd. Even if you click on the “send/receive” button, it just doesn’t check. Any ideas?
