Outlook 2000 Out of Office and Exchange

We are experiencing a general failure of Outlook 2000 out of office assitant to reply to any emails. The service was working for the longest time but now does not. No major system changes on Exchange 2000 server box. Not sure where to look first since I can’t pinpoint a change that I think would affect this feature.
