Outlook 2000 Won’t Remember Passwords

I’ve a user who is using Outlook 2000 on a WinXP platform. The Outlook is configured to retreive Internet mail from our POP mail server. When she clicks Send/Receive, the password promt appears asking her for her username and password. The username is OK – Outlook remembers that, but even after checking Remember password, the next time she tries to rx her she gets asked for the password again.

Initially, the mail config. was Internet Only, so I updated it to Internet/Corporate. I tried creating a new account (duplicate of hers) but this doesn’t work either. I looked for any password files (*.PWD) but found none. I haven’t tried removing/recreating her Internet Mail service yet. I wanted to see if anyone else had any ideas…
