Outlook 2002 losing calendar dates

Using Outlook 2002(OfficeXP) client, Exchange 2000 server, Calendar items are losing their dates, and end up with no date for calendar item. Users are randomly and indiscriminately losing their appointments. Have latest patches and SP on exchange and Outlook. Users had view each others calendars, but now have locked down mailbox access to owners only. Any insight to issue?
