I have many users utilizing outlook 98 in an NT environment (it is the corporate/workgroup edition) and have encountered an issue I see no reference to in TechNet, etc. ?When we choose to insert an e-mail from the Sent Items folder, the list is organized by the FROM field – which is all but useless since they are all FROM the user. They should be displayed by the TO field. In the Sent items folder, they are displayed correctly whne not using insert. I know I can search by subject, etc….but that is a workaround.
Is this an error in Outlook 98? Is there a patch available? Is there a way to modify this undesirable behavior?
Searching TechNet, the only thing of interest I have found is in Q192228. It appears that there are issues withthe From field in other aspects of Outlook 98 when used in conjunction with the Corporate/Workgroup Installation (which is what we are using). Perhaps, in some way, this carries over into the insert fields as well or the problem is a related bug. I certainly don’t know for sure…
Any insight to the problem? Better still….a fix?
