My boss had an email account set up on my Exchange 5.5 server and I had added an alternate email address for him (ie, regular email address FirstInitialLastname@xyz.com and alternate email address abc@xyz.com). It seemed abc@xyz.com garnered nothing more than junk mail. He went away on a trip and didn’t want to pull this garbage in via dialup so he asked me to “separate” the association. I removed the alias and created a separate mailbox just for abc. It is receiving mail but I can’t pull it in. Event viewer list an error stating that the logon failed…permissions check() call failed with Access denied. Other errors indicated unknown user name or password (I copied his original user info in User set up). Any help would be appreciated.
