Outlook Express 6 connection trouble

Please help, I have done everything, but Outlook Express refuses to connect to my mail server. The error message goes: “The connection to the server has failed. Account: ‘XYZ’, Server: ‘XXYYZZ’, Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10065, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E”.
By the way, is there any place where I can look for ?error code? interpretations? I have tried MS knowledge base every which way, but no luck, on a Saturday too, Thank you.
