Outlook keeps prompting for password

Outlook 2000 prompts for a password even when “save password” is checked. This occurs on both Windows 2000 machines and the Win98 machine that I have set up this user’s personal folder on. I’ve seen the registry fix for this problem (and tried it, unsuccessfuly) but I wouldn’t think the registry could be at fault when the same error occurs on 3 different network PCs. I ran scanpst and it found no errors. I can’t think of anything else.
