Ok, this one has been bugging the heck out of me.
We are running exchange 2003 on a Server 2003 Domain. All of the employees in the office are working on a W2k Pro or XP Pro workstation with either Outlook 2000 or 2003.
Basically when someone sends an email to someone else that email message pops up immediately on the screen of the email recipient. This is like this for everyone.
Well recently just out of the blue, one of my bosses, his email starting coming in late…. Instead of getting a notification immediately, he wont get one till 10 minutes after the email was sent.. The time varies as well.. sometimes 5 minutes, sometimes up to 45 minutes.. It is like this even if he sends an email to himself.
Also, another thing that is weird is, even if he were to do a send and receive, the messages wont show up, it isn’t until he clicks on his outbox, sent items, or drafts folder that the new messages will show up in his inbox.
I have tried all of the following with no success:
1. Upgrading from Outlook 2000 to 2003
2. Made sure that his setting to auto send and receive was set to 1 minute (although this does not affect all the other clients some are set for every 10 minutes, and an email message will show immediately)
3. Took office off of his workstation completely, and then re-installed it.
4. Wiped his windows profile out completely, and rebuilt it.
5. Checked out the settings on the exchange server (nothing looked out of whack.)
6. Deleted his mailbox from exchange, and restored it from a backup.
Nothing has worked yet, and I am desperate for any ideas that would help me solve this issue.
By the way.. The boss is currently running Windows XP Pro, and Outlook 2000.
