Outlook Read Receipts …

When my Fila USA/Canada based users send email to our coworkers over-seas, email read receipts appear as normal email messages from recipients until they are opened to be read. US/Canada based users are using Outlook 2000, XP or 2003. European and Asian employees are using Lotus Notes.

Does anyone know what could be causing this?
