OUTLOOK’97 CLIENT – PUBLIC FOLDERS

We use Outlook 97 and Exchange server 5.5
We have a calendar public folder that people use for booking out meeting rooms etc.
On one Outlook client what happens is that when you go in to add/edit a calendar appointment the location field info for that appointment will be different to what everyone else sees on the network.
To fix this you need to re-edit the existing appointment and choose the location from the drop down list instead of typing it in.
I’ve tried discarding the view and choosing another one but that doesn’t help and a reinstall of Outlook doesn’t fix it either.
We can workaround it since the user is aware of it but wondered if this is a known bug?
