Password protect messages in Outlook

I’m looking for a way to have Outlook promt for a password each time I open it to protect my downloaded messages. Ive tried Identies in Outlook Express but found having to remeber to logoff the identity each time annoying. Also suggestions of alternative email clients are welcome.
