Paste Special in Word 97

by chouf . Updated 23 years, 10 months ago

Hi,
I have to deal with a really strange problem within Word 97. A user is pasting in Word 97, as an “Excel Worksheet Object”, some values copied from and Excel 97 worksheet. The steps are :

1. Copying the cells in Excel
2. In Word, Edit > Paste Special > Microsoft Excel Worksheet Object (Float over text checked).

The problem appears when these Excel data are edited within Word. Double-clicking the object correctly opens the Excel editor that allow us to edit the values, but when it’s done and we click somewhere else in the doc to leave the “edit” mode, the Excel object doesn’t shrink back to its normal size that fits the page width but stays oversized which results in some data loss in the last right-side column. That column is litteraly split in the middle and some data aren’t visible anymore because out of range.
