Photoshop Questions

Hi

1. I have Photoshop 6 and I want to know if I can upgrade to the latest version?

2. What is the latest version?

3. I also want to be able design high quality magazine page layouts. What software should I be using please?

4. I have seen lots of magazine pages with product items floating above pages with a shadow but it doesn’t look like a photoshop import. Do designers , create the whole page layout in photoshop?

Could a graphic designer who does this please email me as I have some more questions,
