Pop-ups on Windows Internet Explorer

Pop-ups cause Internet Explorer 6 to freeze up. After pressing control-alt-del, the close program window shows IE not responding. The end task feature then crashes the desktop. Restoring the destop link function works, but several of the programs inthe systray do not restore until a restart.
