Problem with Outlook–“Not Responding”

I am using Office 2000 and the Outlook program was running just great. Now when I click on the icon to open it, the Outlook window comes up and then just sits there…nothing happens. When I use cntl/alt/delete, I find that “Outlook Not Responding”. I have uninstalled Office 2000 and reinstalled it. Same problem occurs. Any suggestions?
