Proofing tools

We have a need to do some publishing in Spanish. Office 2000 claims to come with proofing tools for Spanish, but then I noticed that they also offer an additional set of proofing tools that you can purchase. What’s the benefit of purchasing the additional tools as opposed to just using the built in Spanish spell checking and grammer tools?
