Read Outlook 2000 mail as Plain Text

I know that for OfficeXP, ReadAsPlain (DWORD) set to 1 under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\10.0\Outlook\Options\Mail solves this. But, this does not work for Outlook 2000, although a similar registry path/key exists. Anyone who knowshow to accomplish this one?

The reason why I want this is to prevent scripts from running when opening the mail.
