recurring appointment in outlook 2000

using outlook 2000 i am receiving an error message “cannot read one instance of this recurring appointment” when trying to access a calendar appt. i have the imo installation of outlook 2000 installed. i have to perform a ctrl-alt-del and end outlook to get out of this error.
