Removing Tab Characters in Access 2k

We use a database program called Clientele. When we enter in our forms some data and use the TAB key to tab over some spaces, on the reports printed using Access 2000, those TABs come out as squares.
Is there a way in Access to prevent these squares from showing up, so the TAB spaces are correctly recognized as the spaces they are?
Know what I mean?
