Restoring Outlook XP Archives to ’03

I have attempted to restore archive files created in Outlook XP to a new installation of Outlook 2003. When I do an import, the file appears as blank – and the file size of the original file is reduced to about 265 K. If I use Data File Management to open the folder, the original file remains intact, but I still cannot see any of the folders. I’ve tried deleting and recreating my archive file for 2003 as suggested in another discussion. Any more ideas?
