Retrieving a excel file

Hi,

One of our user computer crashed, it automatically turned off and then on again, causing her to lose an unsave excel spreadsheet. She spent the whole day working on it and forgot to save it when the computer crashed, is there a way to recover it or is it gone forever? Thanks!
